Chat2DB Community is a local-first desktop client (Windows, macOS, Linux) and Docker-deployable web client that combines a full SQL workspace — editing, completion, formatting, execution, and history — with an AI assistant you connect to your own model to generate, explain, and optimize SQL in natural language. It also covers database/table/object browsing and DDL/DML editing, data import and export, dashboards and charts, and an open-source CLI with MCP support, across 40+ databases including MySQL, MariaDB, TiDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and SQL Server.
The Community edition is free and source-available under a modified Apache License 2.0 with additional conditions restricting reselling or hosting it as a service for others; commercial Pro and Enterprise editions from the same team add hosted AI services, accounts, cloud sync, and team collaboration features.
