TacitSoft
The company behind MySQL For Free — a database engineering and operations practice for growing software teams, covering database health assessments, query and schema optimization, backup and recovery verification, MySQL and MariaDB migration readiness, high availability, security hardening, and incident intervention.
MySQL For Free is TacitSoft’s database engineering and operations practice for growing software teams. It helps when slow queries, scaling limits, replication problems, risky migrations, unreliable backups, or database incidents begin affecting customers and delivery.
Its work includes database health and risk assessments, query and schema optimization, backup and recovery verification, MySQL and MariaDB migration readiness, high availability, security hardening, cloud database architecture, incident intervention, and fractional principal database engineering. It supports MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Percona, and cloud-managed database platforms, along with the Linux, cloud, observability, and delivery systems around them.
The community began as mysqlforfree.com in 2009 and is now operated by TacitSoft LLC, based in Phoenix, Arizona. The knowledge remains open; professional engineering engagements are delivered through TacitSoft. It is an independent community, not affiliated with or endorsed by Oracle, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, or Percona.
TacitSoft also publishes DB Daily, a daily digest of source-linked database stories with an RSS feed, and offers wider platform services beyond databases: architecture and modernization, OS image lifecycle, and managed platform reliability.
