Shattered Silicon
A vendor-independent MariaDB and MySQL consultancy offering remote DBA work worldwide, on-site consulting in Europe, subscription support, and performance tuning.
Shattered Silicon is a database consultancy founded in 2000 by Gordan Bobic, working with MariaDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL on Linux. It describes itself as vendor-independent and says its services are aimed mainly at companies that don’t employ a full-time DBA, or whose infrastructure has grown too large and complex for the DBAs they have.
Its consulting covers capacity planning, configuration, health checks, performance, and security, along with upgrades and migrations, including recovering performance lost after moving off MySQL 5.7. Subscription support offers a 1–4 hour response SLA for production MySQL systems and is usually available for servers the team has already analysed. On-site work is offered in Europe, and remote DBA work worldwide.
