MariaDB Cloud

MariaDB's own database-as-a-service — serverless and provisioned MariaDB deployments across AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure, the product line formerly marketed as SkySQL.

About

MariaDB Cloud runs MariaDB Enterprise Server as a managed service, automating provisioning, scaling, global replication, backups, and patching across more than 40 regions on AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure. It offers a free, auto-scaling Serverless tier for development and variable workloads, alongside node-based Foundation, Power, and PowerPlus provisioned tiers for predictable, production-grade performance, with an SLA on multi-node services.

The platform has absorbed SkySQL, MariaDB’s earlier standalone cloud brand that spun off as an independent company in 2023 — MariaDB reacquired SkySQL in August 2025 and folded its serverless and AI-oriented capabilities back into this core product line. It’s SOC 2 compliant and billed either hourly/pay-as-you-go or through annual subscription commitments.
