Sunny Bains is a Software Architect at PingCAP, the company behind TiDB, an open source, MySQL-compatible distributed SQL database. He has been working on database internals and storage engines since 2001. Before joining PingCAP, Sunny worked at Oracle, where he led the MySQL/InnoDB team and contributed to major InnoDB scalability and performance improvements. His work includes core optimizations and features such as InnoDB full-text search, parallel DDL, and B-tree performance improvements.
