Matt Lord is the lead maintainer for the Vitess project — the open source database clustering system used to scale some of the world’s largest MySQL deployments — and a Software Engineer at PlanetScale, where he works on the MySQL/Vitess database service. His work focuses on helping developers and companies operate MySQL at scale, with an emphasis on Vitess, database reliability, and developer experience. Matt is an active voice in the MySQL and Vitess communities through talks, technical content, and community support. He serves as Secretary of the OurSQL Foundation.
