MariaDB India Meetup #1

The MariaDB Foundation's first online meetup for the Indian MariaDB community: talks and open Q&A with MariaDB engineers and contributors, opened by Michael “Monty” Widenius and Anna Widenius.

About

The MariaDB Foundation hosts its first meetup for the Indian MariaDB community on November 12, 2026, 7:00–8:30 pm IST (13:30–15:00 UTC). It is free and online, on Zoom. Michael “Monty” Widenius, who started both MySQL and MariaDB, joins Anna Widenius to open the evening with the MariaDB story: why it was created, what the Foundation protects, and how MariaDB differs from MySQL. Talks from MariaDB engineers and contributors follow (speakers and topics to be announced), then open Q&A. The meetup is for backend developers, DBAs, students, open source contributors, and anyone running or planning to run MariaDB, and is the first in a series of MariaDB Foundation events for India this winter.
